Each grade level has a different grade level big cat mascot. The Barron “Bigcats” mascot represents an appreciation for differences. As the Barron Bigcats, we embrace the uniqueness of each individual as we work as a family within a unified group to accomplish our goals. Grade level mascots are pictured here.

Student Transfer Information:

Student Transfer Process Students are eligible to attend the school in the attendance zone assigned to their residence. If a parent desires to request a transfer to a different school (or to remain in a school if the family has moved out of the attendance area) a transfer application must be filed in the office of Student and Family Services at 5804 Coit Rd, Suite #102, Plano, 75023. The first date the office will accept transfer requests for students in grades 1-12 for the 2011-2012 school year will be January 3, 2011. The first date the office will accept transfer requests for students in kindergarten in the 2011-2012 school year will be April 18, 2011. The deadline for submitting applications is June 15, 2011. No transfer requests will be accepted after June 15. Interested parents should submit applications as early as possible within these dates as grade levels and campuses will be closed when limits are reached. Office hours are 8AM to 5PM Monday through Friday. A $50 transfer application fee is required at the time the request is filed. The fee may be waived for students who provide a copy of the letter confirming qualification for the Free or Reduced Lunch Program. More information concerning the procedures followed on the first day transfers are accepted as well as forms and transfer rules are available at (http://www.pisd.edu/parents/transfers/index.shtml) or you may obtain more information by calling the office of Student and Family Services at (469)752-3794 or fax(469)752-3892.

Proceso de Traslados de Estudiantes Los estudiantes son elegibles para asistir a la escuela en la zona de asistencia asignada a su residencia. Si un padre desea solicitar un traslado a una escuela diferente (o permanecer en una escuela si la familia se ha mudado fuera del área de asistencia) debe llenar una solicitud de traslado en la oficina de Servicios para Estudiantes y Familias en el 5804 Coit Rd, Suite #102, Plano, 75023. La primera fecha en que la oficina aceptará solicitudes de traslado de estudiantes en los grados 1-12 para el curso escolar de 2011-2012 será el 3 de enero, 2011. La primera fecha en que la oficina aceptará solicitudes de traslado para estudiantes en kindergarten en el curso escolar de 2011-2012 será el 18 de abril, 2011. El último día para presentar las solicitudes es el 15 de junio, 2011. No se aceptarán solicitudes de traslado después del 15 de junio. Los padres interesados deberán hacer las solicitudes de traslado lo más pronto posible dentro de estas fechas pues los distintos niveles de grado y las escuelas se cerrarán cuando se alcancen los límites de asistencia. Las horas de oficina son de 8AM a 5PM de lunes a viernes. Se requiere un pago de $50. por cada solicitud de traslado en el momento que se presenta la solicitud. El pago se puede suspender para estudiantes que presenten una copia de la carta que confirma que están calificados para el Programa de Almuerzos Gratis o a Precio Reducido.
