The Library Media Center (LMC) is an integral part of the life of the Carlisle student. It provides opportunities for students and staff to read for information and recreation as well as practice the literacy skills they will need in the real word.
The staff of the LMC consists of Mrs. Kathie Duke, Library Media Specialist and Mr. Rob Swartzendruber, Campus Technology Assistant. This facility is available for the Carlisle community from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM daily.
Parent volunteers and Carlisle Care students are a valuable asset to the LMC. This commitment makes it possible to function efficiently and effectively in service to the students.
The LMC has a flexible schedule that permits students to visit for research and to check out materials as often as they wish. Classes are held weekly for every grade level. Students are introduced to award winning books in all genres. Author studies are included as an integral part of literature appreciation. Lessons focus on literacy skills, research skills, and library skills. Read-aloud activities are included at every grade level.
Carlisle LMC also supports several reading incentive programs including Texas Bluebonnet Award, Six Flags Read to Succeed, Mavericks Reading Challenge, Pizza Hut Book It, and Plano Public Library Summer Reading.
Our Library Media Center has a warm and inviting atmosphere welcoming all of our visitors to enjoy the joy of reading and learning.
