Education: Queens's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada

Years in education: 6 years a school nurse, 25 years as a nurse

Family: I am married with three children ages 8-14 years. Almost every summer, we travel up to Canada to enjoy extended family, cooler temps and spending time in the family cabin.

Interests/Hobbies: I love the outdoors, especially hiking and canoeing. I enjoy driving to new places, just to explore.

If I hadn't been a teacher, I would have been... If I wasn't a nurse, I would have liked to be a wildlife officer or an accountant.

Interesting facts about me: I've been to the Arctic, teaching First Aid and CPR to the Inuit people. Then I moved from the far-north to Hawaii for two years. Quite a climate change, but the people had a lot of similarities.
I enjoy working with school children because they are not critically ill, like the ones I took care of in the hospitals. I can interact with them and focus on health promotion. They make me smile everyday!
