Welcome to the Davis Elementary School website. Davis Elementary is an amazing school. We are proud to educate our neighborhood students, students from all over Collin County with hearing impairments in the Plano Regional Day School for the Deaf, and students in the bilingual program which serves students from our own community and other Plano Senior High feeder schools.
The dedicated staff at Davis Elementary believes that every child can learn and grow in a challenging academic environment. Our students are surrounded by a loving, supportive staff that nurtures both the students’ academic and social emotional growth. With the help of our parents and community, Davis Elementary has become an inclusive environment where children can become the very best they can be. If you are new to Davis, you will feel the Davis Spirit when you enter our doors.
My name is Kristin Bishop, and I am proud to be the Principal of Davis Elementary School. This is my 16th year in public education. Prior to becoming an administrator, I taught 4th and 5th grades and special education. I was also a special education team leader.
I earned my undergraduate degree in History from Texas Christian University. I then went on to get my elementary teaching certificate from Tarleton State University. In 2002, I received the "Outstanding Educator of the Year" award from the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas. In 2004, I earned my Master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas in Denton.
I am thrilled to be the Principal at Davis. I think each day is an opportunity to learn and grow, for both the students and the staff. The atmosphere at Davis inspires everyone to love learning. Everywhere you look, students are engaged in new learning and activities. And just when you think the students have learned it all, they amaze us by achieving something else for us to celebrate. I love to ask students about their work and their projects. Each time I ask, the boys and girls astonish me with their insight and connections. I'm so proud to be a part of this exceptional school and school district.
