Sharon Townsend graduated from the University of Oklahoma (Go Sooners!). She has been teaching in Plano ISD for over twenty years. She has taught at Clark High School (speech, debate, and English I), Plano Senior High (English IV), and is currently teaching at Plano West English IV and CBOI English.

Ms. Townsend loves to spend time with her grandchildren. She has seven grandkids in the Plano area, so they keep her and her husband busy with their soccer games, cheerleading, and dance. She is always reading a book and Shakespeare is her all time favorite author. Braveheart is her all time favorite movie. She has two adorable cats, Shakespeare and Sadie. She enjoys traveling, and is a football fanatic.

Ms. Townsend's teaching philosophy is to passionately teach her students with an open mind and heart. She feels teachers must not be so set in their ways that adaptability is lost. She adjusts when timely topics come up instead of staying with the planned lesson. She can vary from routine and rules when necessary to help a student. She invites humor and enthusiasm into my classroom and encourage them to stay. In the words of Winston Churchill, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
