Plano ISD eSchool. . . is one of the instructional programs and services available through Plano ISD as it fulfills its mission to provide an excellent education for all students. As your child’s first and most important teacher, you are our valued partner in delivering a strong, positive online educational experience for your student.
Therefore, we invite you . . . to explore some important information about eSchool to help you decide if online courses are a good learning option for your student.
Online learning. . . is a good option for a student who is self-motivated and enjoys working independently. For more complete information, read Step 1 on The For Students page.
If your student attends a public school, private school, or a school out of state. . . please speak with your campus counselor, or contact to ensure that the course/s you are considering taking online will work with your student’s graduation plan.
Students may register. . . for 2 online courses at a time. However, a student needing both semesters of a 2 semester course must register for and complete the 1st semester before registering for the 2nd semester.
Plano ISD students. . . may take no more than 3 full credits through a combination of correspondence and eSchool courses. eSchool courses are not factored into a student’s GPA. Online courses are GPA neutral. [Reference Plano ISD School Board Policy EHDE Local]
Note: Students attending school outside of the Plano Independent School District should check with their school counselor for their district policy regarding online courses.
"I must say it is soooo easy to 'partner' with you. You have been so helpful and positive! Stephanie has really been doing well. She understood the material and was able to work through it without being overwhelmed. ..."
eSchool online courses. . . provide a great deal of flexibility for students as they work to meet their educational goals. However, there are also specific guidelines and structures in place to motivate and monitor each student’s progress. For example:
Once your student has registered for an eSchool course, you may monitor your student's progress and grades:

"I just wanted to say 'thank you' for the extra encouragement you gave Brock in completing his assignments. Between soccer practices, end of school activities and out of town travel. I was beginning to wonder if he would make the deadline. Thanks to you, he crossed the finish line!"
