Related to Haggard Middle School
On April 10th, from 5–6:00 p.m. in the Haggard Cafeteria, all Art and Skills for Living students will be throwing a little party that everyone is invited to attend…it’s the Empty Bowls Project! This is a service-learning opportunity that engages students in the fight against hunger. Guests will be invited to a special event where they can choose a bowl to fill with soup and bread in exchange for a $5.00 cash donation to the North Texas Food Bank, and they will be encouraged to keep their empty bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world.
Art students will create ceramic bowls during their art classes and Skills for Living students will be learning about nutrition and budgeting, as well as cooking the soup and bread for the dinner. Mark your calendars!!! This is our grant-winning project and all the proceeds go to the North Texas Food Bank! Please Please Please come and support our kids and help the food bank too!
