Our parents help to ensure the highest levels of student learning through strong partnerships and collective accountability. The excellence in our school system is due, in large part, to the involvement of our parents and their volunteer efforts. By sharing their time, talents and resources our parents strengthen the PISD team.
According to district policy, every person who wishes to serve as a volunteer or any other person who will have contact with District students shall have a background check every school year. The criminal history shall be reported to and be approved by the Director of Security prior to the applicant being appointed to a position that allows such contact with students. In order to volunteer in the classroom, on field trips, at class parties, or anywhere contact with District students is necessary, it is mandatory that each person fill out a volunteer application.
