Mrs. Engelking was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She is married to Ron Engelking. She has two daughters, Meredith and Megan. Mrs. Engelking is also blessed with two step-children, Julie and Jon. Ron and Linda have seven grandchildren.

About Mrs. Engelking

Mrs. Engelking started teaching in Plano I.S.D. in 1979; prior to that she taught in the Dallas I.S.D. She has taught in both the Elementary and the Middle School setting. Mrs. Engelking has taught in the general education classroom, special education/resource, special education/self-contained, been a Plano Academic Support Specialist, and also a Reading Specialist. She has been the Principal of Sigler Elementary (1996 – 2001), Meadows Elementary (2001 – 2004), and her most recent appointment is to Hunt Elementary.

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education/Learning and Language Disabilities with a minor in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University
  • Master of Education Degree in Special Education/Severely Emotionally Disturbed from Texas Woman’s University
  • Mid Management / Principal Certification from the University of North Texas.

Hunt Hounds . . . on the trail to excellence

This simple statement sums up the heart and soul of Hunt. We are here to educate all children in a safe and caring environment; and our expectation is one of challenging our children to learn to their greatest capacity. We will work to instill respect for self and others, responsibility for personal choices, and concern for community in all that we teach and do at Hunt Elementary.

I have been in the field of education for 30 + years. I am very proud to be an administrator in one of the most outstanding school districts in the nation, Plano ISD. Being given the the opportunity to open Hunt Elementary has definitely been a journey of mind and heart, every year challenging me to move on to new learning and new experiences. Our 'Exemplary' school represents in namesake someone that was an important part of "the heart of the Plano school system", Mrs. Martha Hunt! What an honor to be the instructional leader in a building that bears Martha Hunt's name, a name that is synonymous with excellence.

I invite you to come and personally visit our campus and meet our outstanding staff and awesome students. You will see for yourself that Hunt is definitely the place to be! We look forward to meeting you!
