UPDATE OR REPORT

Our first grade students at Mathews Elementary will present a short musical play on the evening of Thursday, March 8—our Open House night—at 6:00 p.m. I am asking 1st grade students to arrive between 5:45 and 6:00 p.m. to line up with their classes in the gym.

Our program for the evening is “The Little Pine Tree.” Each class will portray a special group of characters in the play, and each child is asked to dress the part.
• Mrs. Scott’s class will portray the trees in the forest. Students should wear brown, tan, or khaki-colored pants (or skirts) with a bright green or forest green shirt. • Mrs. Woodard’s class will be the storm. Students should wear black, shades of blue, or white. • Mrs. Wilson’s class will be the robbers. Students should wear all solid dark colors. • Mrs. Lensch’s class will be the deer. Students should wear brown, tan, khaki, white, or a combination of these colors.

       If you would like to add face paint or decorative elements to your child’s outfit you may do so, or they may simply come to the performance dressed in the appropriate colors.  All students will sing during the performance and either perform on an instrument or act out a part.

All Mathews families are invited to attend the performance in the gym.
