Panther Pause Daily Announcements

Play Summer 7 on 7 Olympic rugby and represent Plano Schools in tournaments v Texas and Oklahoma teams starting May 25th through July 27th! Boys and Girls Divisions. Practices from May 21st are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 pm at Haggard/PSHS practice fields off of Parkhaven Drive, Plano. See www.planorugby.com for more information.

Plano East Theatre is proud to present The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (May 16- 18) at 7:00PM, with a matinee performance at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 18 in the Plano East Auditorium. Please accept our invitation to join us for our final mainstage production of the 2012—2013 season. Eight student performers will attempt to perform all of the Bard’s 37 plays in under 90 minutes (give or take). Knowledge about Shakespeare's works is helpful, but not at all necessary—this Shakespeare as Vaudeville, and the perfect opportunity for the students to pull out all the stops before the end of the year.

There will be two separate casts: the “London” cast, performing on Thursday and Saturday nights, and the “Stratford” cast, performing on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

Admission for PISD employees is free with the presentation of your PISD badge. Tickets for other adults are $8, and $6 for students. Seating for The Complete Works is extremely limited, so reservations are strongly recommended. Reserved tickets must be picked up (and paid for, for non-PISD employees) at the box office by 6:50PM. Tickets not picked up by that time will be released to patrons on the waiting list. Reservations can be made by calling the theatre office at (469) 752-9247 or by emailing me at gavin.mundy@pisd.edu.

Yearbook Distribution: Yearbooks will be distributed May 22 and 23 in the gym before/after school and during lunches. There will be a limited number of extra books available for $100 CASH only. See Mrs. Cole in B1-243 for more information.

Seniors, if you would like an opportunity to speak at your graduation you should try out for the competitive speech. See Mr. Welborn in B1-158 for the speech topic and details.

A Night in Paris: A fine arts celebration to celebrate the visual arts, music, dance, poetry and more. May 17, 6-8 p.m. in the cafeteria. Art gallery, graffiti wall, Parisian lounge, live performances, refreshments.

The PESH Blood Drive will be on Friday, May 17th from 9:00 – 4:30 in the gym. Students who are 17 or older, and weigh at least 110 lbs are eligible to donate. All students must have a signed permission form and a picture ID to donate. Permission forms can be obtained from a Clinical student, the school nurse, or in Room B4-138. PLEASE DONATE TO HELP SAVE A LIFE! Seniors: Final transcript requests are now being accepted in the registrar’s office. If you plan to attend a four year university or community college in the Fall, you must send your final transcript. Transcripts are $2.00 each and will be mailed around the last week in June. The registrar’s office will be closed during the week of exams, so order your final transcript soon!

Junior Student-Athletes—Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship, $1,000—open to any student-athlete who is currently a junior (class of 2014) with a GPA of 2.5 or above. Apply online at www.north-texas.positivecoach.org/scholarships. Deadline: May 31, 2013.
