National Junior Honor Society is an organization that recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, character, citizenship, leadership, and service. For the 2016 - 2017 academic year, only eighth grade students are eligible.
The qualifications for NJHS candidacy in the 2016 - 2017 academic year include:
-- earning a cumulative GPA of at least 90 for their seventh grade year,
-- receiving positive citizenship marks, and
-- having no negative issues related to character.
Returning students who did not receive a letter, but believe they qualify, may inquire at RennerNJHS@gmail.com or may contact advisers Gwen Baumann (room 409) or Mrs. Carina Tran (room 417) in person.
Eighth grade students who are new to Renner this year are eligible for candidacy if they meet these criteria. They should submit copies of either their seventh grade transcript or end-of-year report card showing grades for the entire school year to Mrs. Tran in room 417.
Candidates are inducted into the NJHS near the end of their 8th grade year. To merit induction, candidates must maintain a GPA of at least 90, continue to earn positive citizenship grades, and perform 20 hours of community service during the 2016 - 2017 academic year. Service hours are submitted at the end of each 9-week grading period.
Contact RennerNJHS@gmail.com with additional NJHS questions. Emails are attended to each Monday and Thursday evening.
