Before becoming an administrator, Ms. Methvin was a classroom teacher in Irving and Plano ISD, teaching both third and fourth grades. She served as the Third Grade team leader at Hedgcoxe Elementary here in Plano. Ms. Methvin was the Assistant Principal at Weatherford Elementary for 3 years before joining us as a Schell Coyote. She will be serving as Assistant Principal at both Schell and Stinson this school year. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University, Master’s degree from Texas A&M – Commerce, and Principal Certification from The University of Texas at Arlington.

Ms. Methvin believes that being a teacher and administrator in Plano is a privilege. Creating a nurturing environment where all students can reach their own potential has been Ms. Methvin’s goal since becoming an educator. She strives to excite students and make coming to school a wonderful part of both the students’ and teachers’ day. Her goal is to provide a safe, child-centered environment for all students where children can grow socially and academically. Ms. Methvin encourages collaboration between students, staff, and families to promote high expectations and the best learning environment for student success.
