Vote for your class favorites. Do not wait you TODAY is the LAST DAY to cast your vote! Log onto the computer and go to MyClasses; you should see either 10th Grade Favorites Voting or 9th Grade Favorites Voting. Please select the proper one and vote for one Girl and one Boy in each category. Thank you very much for your participation.

Are You the Big Man on Campus? Well then, gentlemen, prove it! Come and compete for the coveted title of MR. SHS. Our 4th annual Mr. SHS contest will be held on March 28th at 7:30. Enter to win prizes and bragging rights for the year! Stop by the Student Center to pick up a registration packet. To compete, all registrations must be turned in by Tuesday March 19th to Mrs. Webb in C115.

Are you a person that enjoys watching anime and reading manga? Stop by the ANIME CLUB which meets Thursdays after school in Mr. Bryson's room S207.

Ever wanted to try and dunk on Coach Hurst? Ever dreamed of stealing the ball from Mrs. Theodore? Think you can out dribble Mrs. Fields? Well now you can in the Faculty/Student Basketball Game on Thursday March 21st. Create your team and pick up a sign up sheet from Ms. Rosi's, Room C212, today. The first 4 teams to complete and turn in the forms will be our student teams!

JAG--Jesus and Girls--Club meet on Fridays from 4:30 to 5:15 in room D-204. All girls of Shepton are welcome!

AVID sells candy every day after school in front of the Student Center. Bring your money and go home happy!

PREVIOUS NEWS: Join the Shepton Counseling Department & PTSA in the 1st Annual "Life After High School Night" on Thursday, March 21 at 6:30PM. Guests from across the area will be here to share information & answer question on transitioning from school to life, college and career planning & various programs and trade schools available to students. You won't want to miss this great program!

If your life is affected by another person's alcohol or drug use you aren't alone. A new ALATEEN group is on our campus. Come to D215 every Tuesday morning from 8:15-8:45 to find understanding.

The YUGIOH CLUB will meet Tuesdays in Room C227 from 4:20-5:20PM. Please bring your own deck and plan to have fun.

The CHESS CLUB meets EVERY Wednesday after school in E 204 and you can play as long as you are being challenged. So find someone to challenge you, bring them and a chess board to Room on Wednesdays.

Calling all writers! The Shepton CREATIVE WRITING CLUB meets each Thursday at 8:15 in Mrs. Snyder's room, C228. We share our writings, laugh, and encourage each other. We would love to see you!

MISSING ITEMS-If you have misplaced a key, eye glasses, or other valuable item, please stop by the Student Center to see if they have been turned in. Clothing, agendas, binders, etc. are located in the cafeteria next to the Boys & Girls Club.

Student Reminders: Lost and Found is located in the Cafeteria area. The Student Center is where lost valuables are brought, i.e. phones, wallets & purses. BACKPACKS are not brought to the Student Center; they would be located in the Cafeteria Lost and Found.

If you have a parent dropping items off. Please check the 'message board' located next to the Attendance Office.

Please note that LEGGINGS cannot be worn as pants or in any combination with other clothing that are in violation of dress code. Pajama Pants and/or House Shoes are not in dress code and not allowed on campus.

~ Tutorial Bus

Shepton provides a late bus on Mondays and Wednesdays, leaving at 5:10pm for students who need transportation home after attending afternoon tutorials. Tutorial bus applications can be obtained from your teacher, counselors, and the Student Center. Students must submit an application before having permission to ride the tutorial bus. It takes five school days after submitting your application before you are able to ride the tutorial bus.

Notes from Nurse Farmer: Please check your emergency form on Parent Portal and update it. Students may not be checked out by anyone who is not on the form. If your student has a history of headaches, migraines, or menstrual cramps; I encourage you to keep a pain remedy for them hear at school. Have your student stop by the clinic for the form and instructions on how to do this. If your student will need medication on an overnight school trip, please contact me a week in advance to review the procedure. Emergencies do occur; please answer all calls from PISD during the school day.

~ Shepton PTSA

Join Shepton's PTSA (Parent, Teacher, Student Association) and help support the PTSA program at Shepton! We encourage all of our families to join our PTSA by going to the Shepton PTSA website www.Sheptonptsa.org and click 'Membership'. Shepton has a strong tradition of having one of the largest PTSA's in Plano ISD. Please be sure to register and be a part of that tradition.

~ Plano West High School Education and Training Program

Interested in teaching or working with children? See your counselor for information about the Plano West Education and Training Program. The program offers students the opportunity to assist and teach at elementary schools in the west cluster as well as teaching on campus at the Plano West Preschool. The course is a year-long, 2 hour block. If you are interested, please pick up an application at the Jasper counseling center. Applications are due by May 10,2013. Email Mrs. Begis for additional information at leeann.begis@pisd.edu

~ Plano West Lady Wolves Soccer

Lady Wolves Soccer Teams have won again! Tuesday night, they played the Allen Lady Eagles for the second time in district play. Varsity and JV both finished their games with 2-0 wins. For Varsity, Nicole Smith had goal #1 with an assist from Casie Ramsier. Brooke Ramsier scored the second and final goal with an assist from Ashley Smith. JV's goals were scored by Lakyn Pope and Nicole Stock. Come cheer on the Lady Wolves as they play the McKinney Lionettes Friday night at Clark East. Games times are 5:30 for JV and 7:30 for Varsity. Go Wolfpack!

~ Plano West Men's Soccer

Wolf Pack Soccer heads to Mckinney Friday night to take to the pitch against the McKinney Lions. Come help cheer them on! the stadium is located at 1400 Wilson Creek Parkway, McKinney TX 75069 - on the east side of the high school. JV starts at 5:30 and Varsity starts at 7:30. Go Wolves!

UT Dallas will provide free workshops during Spring Break. The workshops will include an introduction to Python programming with robots and graphics; an introduction to programming using Alice; an introduction to programming using JavaScript & drawings; an introduction to programming in C++.
