I feel like the luckiest principal in Plano to be at Skaggs Elementary. Skaggs has a reputation for being one of the highest performing schools in the district. My goal will be to promote and maintain this excellence by making decisions for your children that I would want made for my own. With the support and expertise of the Skaggs staff, this goal will be accomplished. I am honored to have been selected as principal for Skaggs. This is my 16th year in education. I earned my degrees and began my teaching career in Illinois. I taught there for 7 years in grades ranging from second to sixth. I then came to Plano to teach fourth grade and later became the Literacy Specialist at Wells Elementary. My role as Assistant Principal gave me five strong years of leadership experience. The campuses I was full time or split half-time between are Barksdale, Gulledge, Hightower, Haun and Brinker Elementary Schools. The experience I have gained from each of these campuses prepared me for what I do today. The support system I have at home is amazing. My husband Randy and I are proud parents of two outstanding children, Ella, seven, and Zane, two. Community involvement is what makes a good school great. So, each of you knowing that I have an open door policy is very important to me. Building a relationship with each one of you in order to build a strong partnership between the school and the community is vital. I look forward to an another amazing year at Skaggs, where children "Reach for the Stars".
