Mission Statement:
Plano ISD (Library Media Services): The mission of Library Media Services is to ensure that literacy remains a vital part of every student’s continuous learning experience.
The mission of the Vines High Library is to promote life-long learning and literacy through exposure to print and electronic resources and digital media in a collaborative learning environment.
Library Fine Policy
At Vines and at Plano Senior High, students are charged a fine for a book that is not returned on time. Fines are 10 cents a day, not including school holidays, weekends, and ice/snow/bad weather days. Fines are capped at $5.00 per book, so students will not be charged more than $5.00 per book. This doesn’t mean $5.00 total, it means $5.00 per book. So if you have two books out, each with a $5.00 maximum fine, your library fine total is $10.00.
Library Book Club
There has been heavy interest among the student body for a book club each year. The library is happy to sponsor the club. This year, we have 37 book club members! The goal of the book club is to meet once a month in a relaxed atmosphere (the library) to discuss books. The books are self-selected by the students and cover a variety of genres and Dewey sections in our library. There are no dues for being a part of this club and we meet during lunch so our members do not worry about getting to school early or staying late. We perform one service project a year – a book drive, of course. All proceeds go to the Friends of the Plano Public Library. Students, consider joining. We always have loads of fun!

The fall semester book club scheduled meetings follow:
September 8th, October 6th, November 3rd
Book Drive: December 5 – 9th
